A 59-year-old Millsboro woman was arrested on June 21 for her sixth DUI after she allegedly fled the scene of a crash in Long Neck.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded to Plaza Drive in the area of the McDonald’s restaurant in Long Neck around 4 p.m. for a report of a crash involving two vehicles, one of which fled the scene. Police said an investigation revealed that a Ford Ranger operated by a female later identified as Deborah E. Pettyjohn exited the rear entrance of the McDonald’s onto Plaza Drive, striking the driver’s side of a vehicle traveling eastbound. Police said the Ranger then fled the area. Police said the operator and passenger in the second vehicle were not injured and were able to provide registration information for the Ranger.
Police said the Ranger was found in the driveway of the registered owner, and the front end of the vehicle was damaged.
Police said Pettyjohn was taken into custody and charged with her sixth offense of driving under the influence of alcohol and related traffic offenses. Pettyjohn was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution for lack of $6,250 cash bond.
