One year after Anka Behavioral Health began offering programs in Georgetown and Wilmington, the organization has announced it will discontinue its services due to “business reasons,” according to a news release.
Last June, Anka began development in Delaware, opening two Assertive Community Treatment programs and one Intensive Care Management Program through a partnership with the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. Located in Georgetown and Wilmington, the outpatient programs served people experiencing varied levels of mental health challenges, including those with co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Throughout the year, the programs assisted 240 individuals.
Anka CEO Chris Withrow said it is no longer feasible from a business perspective to continue services in Delaware. Anka is working closely with other area providers to ensure a smooth transitions for clients and staff.
