  • Police arrest six in Millsboro drug sting

  • Six Millsboro residents are facing numerous drug- and weapon-related charges following their July 8 arrest in the Carey’s Camp mobile home park.
    According to the Delaware State Police, the arrests come at the culmination of a several month-long investigation into dealing drugs. Police executed simultaneous search warrants around 6 a.m. at two residences in park.
    Police arrested Jason L. Davis, 32, Cassandra L. Higgins, 23, Jenna L. Ennis, 25, and Justin R. Wood, 29, at a residence on Carey’s Drive. During the execution of the search warrant, police said they located a .380 semi-automatic handgun with six rounds of ammunition, 239 bags of suspected heroin totaling 5.975 grams, eight grams of marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, as well as over $4,557 in suspected drug proceeds.
    Police arrested 29-year-old Robert A. Young Jr. after he attempted to flee a residence on Charles Drive. Police said Young was taken into custody after he was subdued by a Taser. Cassandra C. Dixon, 26, was taken into custody without incident inside the residence, where police found 70 bags of suspected heroin totaling 1.7 grams, a 20 gauge shotgun, .5 grams of marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, as well as over $929 in suspected drug proceeds.
    Dixon was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was released on $1,000 unsecured bond. The remaining suspects face many more charges including possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited and second degree conspiracy. Davis, Wood and Young were committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of bond. Higgins and Ennis were committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in lieu of bond.
