  • James E. “Bud” Noe, born Dec. 17, 1939, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2013 after a brief illness. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and Captain, he will be immensely missed by all. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rosemary, his children Marianne (Eric) Guest, Catherine (Tim) Peterson, James (Kelly) Noe, and Michael (Camie) Noe, and 11 grandchildren. Survived by his mother, Edith, and preceded in death by his father James, sister Curaleen, and brother Timothy. Bud graduated from the University of Maryland and served as a Naval Aviator, flying off the U.S.S. Essex, for five years. He married Rosemary in 1964, and was a proud and happy pilot with American Airlines for 30 years. Bud enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, boating and finding great camaraderie and friendship in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, DE. Bud leaves his loved ones and friends with a legacy of selflessness, kindness, humor and passion for life that will never be forgotten. A public service will be held on Monday, July 15, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Frankford, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Catholic Charities USA would be welcomed.
