  • 2013 Pat Knight Baseball Tournament recap; Softball update

  • The 2013 District 3 Little League Pat Knight Tournament is in the books, as four new champions were crowned.
    In the 9/10 year olds division, Nanticoke took home the Pat Knight Championship crown. Nanticoke finished 6-0 in the tournament giving up only 15 runs in those six games on their way to the championship. Nanticoke defeated Lower Sussex 6-5 in the Championship Game on Saturday, July 20.  
    Lower Sussex claimed the 11/12 year old Pat Knight Championship going 8-0 overall while scoring over 100 runs combined in the tournament. Lower Sussex defeated Georgetown 9-7 in the finals on Monday, July 22.
    In Junior League Pat Knight action, Millsboro took home the Championship in the 3-team tournament.  Millsboro moved onto the Championship after winning their first contest of the tournament against Lower Sussex, 12-4. Lower Sussex fell to Cape 15-4, creating a Championship matchup between Millsboro and Cape. Millsboro was victorious winning by a score of 6-5 in a closely contested game on Sunday, July 14.
    Pat Knight 9/10 Softball
    The 2013 Pat Knight 9/10 year olds Tournament will kickoff this weekend with the first set of games scheduled for Sunday, August 4.
    On Sunday, August 4 Millsboro will take on Georgetown at 5:30 p.m. at Lower Sussex Little League’s Comiskey Field. The same day, Lower Sussex will match up with Nanticoke at Memorial Field, also starting at 5:30 p.m.
    On Monday, August 5 Nanticoke will take on Georgetown at 5:30 p.m. at Comiskey Field, while Lower Sussex takes on Millsboro, also at 5:30 at Memorial Field.
    The tournament wraps up with the finals slate of games on Wednesday, August 7. Millsboro will take on Nanticoke at Comiskey Field, while Georgetown takes on Lower Sussex at Memorial Field, both starting at 5:30 p.m.
    The Pat Knight 9/10 Softball Championships will be held at Comiskey Field on Thursday, August 8.
