A 36-year-old Georgetown man was arrested Aug. 15 following a home invasion on Kimmey Street.
According to the Georgetown Police Department, officers were dispatched to the residence around 11:30 p.m. for a reported home invasion robbery with shots fired. Police said the investigation is ongoing but preliminary information indicates that multiple suspects forcibly entered the residence for the purpose of robbing the victim, who suffered a non-life threatening injury as a result of getting shot one time. Police canvassed the area and located one subject, Donta E. Vickers, who was identified as a suspect and was arrested.
Vickers was charged with first degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, home invasion, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and second degree conspiracy.
GPD Chief William Topping said at this time police are not releasing information regarding exactly how many suspects are still wanted in this incident. Topping said physical descriptions of the suspects are also unavailable at this time.
