Jennifer L. Whaley, RN, CCRN, trauma program manager at Beebe Medical Center, recently received recognition from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) for serving 20 years as a certified critical care nurse (CCRN).
The CCRN certification is one of the most advanced professional credentials that a nurse can achieve in the field of acute and critical care.

"We are pleased to recognize Jen's 20 years of excellence as a certified critical care nurse," says Steven Rhone, RN, BSN, MS, NE-BC, Vice President of Patient Care Services. "She has demonstrated a continuous commitment to patients, families, employers, and colleagues alike."

Whaley is responsible for helping patients that have been subjected to a potentially life-threatening injury when they arrive at the emergency department. She also is involved in trauma prevention programs. As a critical care nurse in the hospital, she provides direct bedside care to patients who are acutely or critically ill. This includes participating in patient rounds with physicians and other care providers to ensure a continuum of care from the emergency department to the hospital room.

Whaley is also active in statewide programs fro public safety and accident prevention.
