The Town of Georgetown is looking for residents interested in participating in a Historic District Committee.
"Through preservation of our historic structures, neighborhoods and archeological sites we retain a tangible connection to our past and inspire future progress," states a news release from the town. "By protecting and promoting Georgetown's historic resources there is an increase in civic pride, economic development and a visual reminder of our shared heritage can be realized."
The committee will meet bi-monthly and provide a monthly update to the Town Council. The committee's initial focus will be permitted uses in the Historic District, design standards for building materials within the Historic District and feasibility of expanding the Historic District.
