  • Laura Davidson passed away peacefully at Harrison House in Georgetown at the age of 95. She was born in Wilmington, DE on March 13, 1918 to the late Walter and Sally Truitt. Laura worked for the Junior Board Coffee Shop at Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, DE for 13 years. She was a salesperson for Niagra Cyclo Massage. She relocated to Georgetown, DE and drove a school bus for 3 years. She worked at the Bellboy Motel for 13 years. She retired from the County Seat Florist at the age of 80. During her life she was President of the Democratic Club, Treasurer of Federation of Democratic Clubs, and President of Elk’s of New Castle, as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 6984 in Milton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Sarah Molten; 7 brothers and 4 sisters; her husband Howard Parsons, who was killed during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944; Albert Ferringer; her husband of 28 years, Ira McCruden passed away in 1998; Robert E. Davidson. She is survived by her 3 children, Ann Doutt and husband Don of Millsboro, Richard Parsons and wife Carol of Townsend, DE, Ginny Walls and husband Barry of Georgetown, DE; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren. Family and Friends may pay their respect Wednesday September 11, 2013 at 12 noon in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call an hour before. She will be laid to rest in St. Georges Cemetery.
