  • Sussex Tech Adult Division has been awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant worth more than $150,000 by the Delaware Department of Education.
This grant will enable Sussex Tech to establish an after school program for Hispanic middle school students at the Phillis Wheatley Middle School through a partnership with the Woodbridge School District. The DOE awards these grants to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children.
The program will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 1-April 17, 2014 for two afternoons per week. Eighty Hispanic middle school students will have the opportunity to be part of the program. It will provide the students with the chance to increase their academic skills in math, reading, and technology.
