A Georgetown man has been arrested in connection with a farm equipment theft that occurred in the Harbeson area on Aug. 30 and Sept. 10.
Numerous tips through media outlets and Crime Stoppers assisted with the identification and arrest of 22-year-old Robert L. Storms Jr., said Delaware State Police Spokesman Cpl. E. Gary Fournier.
Sometime in the early morning hours of August 30 and September 10, Storms allegedly drove a vehicle through a bean field in the 20000 block of Beaver Dam Road near Harbeson and removed batteries from a tractor and forklift used in the operation of the farm, Fournier said. Storms also cut a lock off a gas pump and removed approximately 15 gallons of gasoline.
Detectives arrested Storms on Sept. 20 and processed him on charges that include two counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, two counts of theft under $1,500 and from a victim over 62 years old, criminal mischief and two counts of third-degree criminal trespassing.
Storms was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $10,700 unsecured bond.
