  • The Georgetown Police Department is investigating numerous thefts from vehicles in the area. The thefts have been occurring throughout town, said Georgetown Police Spokesman Lt. Lawrence Grose.
Approximately 15 thefts have occurred over the past month and a half, Grose said. It appears the thefts have been crimes of opportunity due to the fact that the vehicles have been left unlocked. The Georgetown Police Department urges residents to lock their vehicles when they are parked in their driveway and to not store valuables such as laptop computers, GPS units or money in their vehicles.
The police department also urges residents to call 911 to request police if they observe any suspicious activity such as unknown subjects walking through their yards or looking in parked vehicles.
