The replacement of a bridge structure near Greenwood will require the closure of Adamsville Road from Sept. 20 until Nov. 5, DelDOT announced.
DelDOT’s contractor Zack Excavating will be replacing the bridge structure over Short and Hall Ditch on Adamsville Road between Route 404 and Hickman Road near Greenwood. The project involves the replacement of existing corrugated metal pipes with three 6-foot reinforced concrete pipes. Additional work includes minor reconstruction of the roadway approach and placement of riprap in the stream to prevent erosion, DelDOT said.
Signs will alert motorists of the upcoming closure and detour.
The detour route for northbound traffic includes Route 404 eastbound to Woodenhawk Road northbound to Double Fork Road northbound to Hickman Road westbound.
The detour route for southbound traffic includes Hickman Road eastbound to Double Fork Road southbound, turn right onto Woodenhawk Road to Route 404 westbound.
