The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation and The Freeman Stage at Bayside will present the Spanish Harlem Orchestra this fall at the Owens Campus of Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown.
The multi-Grammy Award and Billboard Latin Music Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra has established itself as one of the most formidable Latin jazz ensembles working today. The 13-member ensemble, led by Oscar Hernández, has led a resurgence of interest in salsa music, which emerged from the streets of New York City in the 1960s and 1970s.
The Freeman State at Bayside is a program of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation. The foundation was established in 2007 to honor Josh Freeman, the former chairman of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, after his untimely death in 2006. The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation seeks to honor Freeman's passion and commitment to excellence by creating projects that he would've been proud of.
The Spanish Harlem Orchestra will perform on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $11.
