  • The third suspect in an attempted robbery in Laurel was arrested Sept. 30 after police say they received a tip the man was in Bridgeville.
    According to the Delaware State Police, 29-year-old Troy Sanders was founding walking in the area of Mill Park Drive. Police said Sanders provided a fictitious name and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He is charged with second degree attempted robbery, second degree conspiracy, two counts of criminal impersonation and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $9,000 cash bond.
    Police said Sanders, 33-year-old Shawn D. Alston of Bridgeville and 50-year-old Anita M. Amorosa of Laurel allegedly attempted to rob the Oasis Travel Plaza around 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 28. However the robbery was botched when police said the 31-year-old female employee refused to open the cash register. Alston and Amorosa were taken into custody later that day.
