A 48-year-old Seaford man riding a bicycle was hospitalized following an Oct. 5 crash on U.S. Route 13.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. as 51-year-old Mark Lowe of Laurel drove a 2012 Honda Civic south in the left lane of U.S. Route 13 in Seaford. Police said as the vehicle approached Herring Run Road, the side view mirror on the car’s passenger side struck a bicyclist who was riding in the roadway.
The bicyclist, David Emery, was ejected from the bicycle. Police have not determined the direction in which Emery was traveling prior to the crash. Police said Emery was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
