A 33-year-old Millsboro man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Oct. 6 in South Bethany.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. as Christopher Chapman traveled west on Kent Drive in South Bethany at a high rate of speed. Police said upon entering a sharp turn in the roadway, Chapmen lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, and the car left the south edge of the roadway while rotating counterclockwise. Police said the vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, traveled about 78 feet on loose gravel before its passenger side struck a tree.
Police said Chapman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, died while being transported to Beebe Medical Center by ambulance.
