  • The Town of Georgetown will begin picking up bagged leaves on Nov. 18 and will continue through Nov. 22.
Leaf collection is in residential areas only and residents are requested to follow collection guidelines. The use of compostable paper bags is required, and no plastic bags will be collected. Bagged leaves should be placed curbside for collection. Residents are asked to not place bags in the street, on bike lanes or sidewalks or in drainage ditches. Pickup is limited to leaves only. No other debris such as branches, dirt and soil piles, garden material, grass clippings and shrubs will be collected.
Ward 1, which includes areas east of S. Bedford Street and south of E. Market Street, will be picked up on Nov. 18. Ward 2, which includes areas east of N. Bedford Street and north of E. Market Street, will be picked up on Nov. 19. Ward 3, which includes areas west of N. Bedford Street and north of W. Market Street, will be picked up on Nov. 20. Ward 4, which includes areas west of S. Bedford Street and south of W. Market Street, will be picked up on Nov. 21. Other areas as determined by the director of Public Works will be picked up on Nov. 22.
As pickup routes are already established, pickup is limited to what is placed curbside on the dates scheduled above. Leaf collection may be impacted due to weather conditions and workload.
Residents with questions should call Town Hall at (302) 856-7391.
