  • A Georgetown couple was arrested Nov. 7 for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages from a Lantern Lane residence without a license.

  • A Georgetown couple was arrested Nov. 7 for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages from a Lantern Lane residence without a license.
    According to the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement, the agency received a tip that Alicia M. Lopez, 66, and Graciano Lopez, 80, were illegally selling alcohol. DATE agents confirmed the tip by actually purchasing alcohol from the residence. A search warrant was executed and it was discovered the residence was also operating as an unlicensed convenience store and restaurant, selling various beverages, food and personal items. Agents seized various brands of beer along with $1,320 in cash. The Delaware Division of Public Health was also notified.
    Alicia Lopez was charged with selling alcohol without a license. She was released on $250 unsecured bond. Graciano Lopez was charged with selling alcohol without a license, illegal storage of alcohol and carrying on an unlicensed business. He was released on $750 unsecured bail.
