  • A 35-year-old delivery man for Papa Johns was robbed Nov. 18 in Henlopen Landing near Lewes by three unidentified male suspects.

  • A 35-year-old delivery man for Papa Johns was robbed Nov. 18 in Henlopen Landing near Lewes by three unidentified male suspects.
    According to the Delaware State Police, the victim went to Grotto's Grand Slam on Coastal Highway around 9:45 p.m. to call 911 after he had been assaulted and robbed while attempting to deliver a pizza in Henlopen Landing. The victim told police he was making a delivery to 32786 Ocean Reach Drive and when he arrived at the address, he noticed a "For Sale" sign in the front yard. The victim said as he approached the front door and rang the doorbell, he saw three men running toward him. Police said the victim turned and attempted to flee as one of the men grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Police said the suspect then began punching the victim in the head while one of the other suspects began rifling through his pockets, removing his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash and his cell phone. Police said the suspects then fled the area towards State Route 9 with the cash, phone and pizza.
    Police said the victim was slightly injured in the altercation, but did not require immediate medical attention.
    One suspect is described as a black male, between 20 and 25 years of age, and between 5 foot 10 inches and 5 foot 2 inches tall, with a thin build wearing a black sweat shirt and blue jeans. A second suspect is described as a black male, between 20 and 25 years of age, and between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans. The third suspect is described as a black male, with no further physical or clothing description available. All of the suspects were unarmed.
