  • Sussex County Habitat for Humanity is recruiting local women to participate in a series of events as part of the International Habitat program Women Build.
Over the next year, Sussex Habitat plans to bring women together to build homes, communities and hope for hardworking and deserving local families. The organization hosted women Nov. 9 on a build site in Georgetown Point.
The next Women Build event is a Christmas Bazaar scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Habitat ReStore, 107 Depot Street in Georgetown. Among items sold will include crafts, jewelry, collectibles and more. All proceeds will benefit Women Build 2014.
Annabella’s Restaurant, 1201 Savannah Road in Lewes, will host a Dine and Donate Day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 13. Fifteen percent of the entire day’s sales will be donated to Women Build.
The Hard Hats, Heels and Hearts Gala will be held from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2014 at the Baywood Greens Clubhouse, 32267 Clubhouse Way in Long Neck. The event will include a served dinner, open bar, live band, complimentary photo, live auction and chance auction. The event fee ranges depending on the number in your party and whether you’d like to be a sponsor, but the base price per person is $100. To register for the event, visit www.sussexcountyhabitat.org.
