Season outlook: The Sussex Tech Ravens return for another season after some impressive individual performances on the track last season. For the boys, a solid group returns to the fold including Ta’Jon Thomas, Victor Rueda, Jake Bamforth and Christian Sivels. The hope for the boys team is that newcomers Xavier Drummond, Kani Kane, Willis Dickerson and Jimmy Harmon can help the Ravens with depth and competing in events they were limited in due to roster strength in the past. The Ravens are extremely excited about what kind of season the girls team could have this year. Brianna Hall leads the list of returnees after a strong showing in last year’s states. With a number of returning athletes including Hall, Margaret Boachie, Castaysha Lewis, Natasha Taylor, Roxanne Ramirez and Kalene Garrison, the Ravens have a tremendous group of senior leaders all with loads of experience – and speed. Newcomer to the girls team, Breanna Perry, should help the girls depth this season as she hopes to contribute to the solid Ravens team. Both the boys and girls will see their first action of the season on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Worcester County Track Meet, which features Tech and five other teams.

Coach’s quote: “Our goal is to compete each and every day in practice and during our training sessions as well as our meets,” said Sussex Tech head coach Matt Holmes. “If we continue to work hard and compete, we can achieve many things with this group moving forward. We have a solid core group of returners for our boys team, and we have a strong senior class with our girls team and with their leadership we have a special season ahead of us.”
