Cape Henlopen State Park will offer several family programs throughout winter break at the Seaside Nature Center, 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes.
In the Cold-Blooded Animals program, held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 26, families can meet reptiles and other creatures and learn how they survive the winter. The cost is $2 per person.
In the Feed the Birds: Eco-Friendly Solutions program, held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 27, families can learn about winter birds and create treats to help them survive. The cost is $2 per person and includes all materials.
In the Squid Dissection program, held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 28, families can explore the insides and outsides of this unique mollusk through a hands-on dissection. The cost is $5 per person.
These programs are designed for children ages five and older. Space is limited, and reservations can be made by calling (302) 645-6852.
At 2 p.m. on Dec. 26 through Dec. 28, children of all ages are invited to participate in the Holiday Feeding Frenzy program. See the nature center’s fish and other sea creatures being fed in this fun and free program.
The Seaside Nature Center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Borrow-A-Bike program is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
