Police are searching for three suspects in a Dec. 12 home invasion in the 16000 block of Pepperbox Road in Laurel.
According to the Delaware State Police, a 26-year-old woman called 911 around 11:45 p.m. after three men, at least one armed with a handgun, broke into her home. The victim told police the men forcibly entered the rear door of the home and confronted the woman in her bedroom. The victim said the suspects demanded money and when she told them she didn’t have any money one suspect fired a round into the bed. Police said the victim turned over some jewelry before the three left the residence with two laptop computers and a cell phone. As they were leaving, police said one suspect fired another round into the home, striking a dresser in the bedroom. Police said the woman and her three children – ages four months, 2 years and 7 years – were uninjured. Police said the children were sleeping in a separate area of the house at the time of the incident.
One suspect is described as a black male, 23 to 26 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and between 170 and 180 pounds in weight wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black cloth around the bottom portion of his face. This was the armed suspect. A second suspect is described as a black male of heavy build, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and between 230 and 250 pounds in weight wearing a black knit hat and a grey hooded sweatshirt pulled over the top of his head. The third suspect is described as a black male, with no further physical or clothing description available.
