A 53-year-old woman was punched in the face by an intruder during a Dec. 27 home invasion in Seaford.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded to the 23000 block of Young Street around 8:30 p.m. after a male suspect reportedly broke into the home. Police said the victim was cleaning her parents’ home when the man entered the front door brandishing a knife. The victim told police the man demanded money and when she told him she didn’t have any, he grabbed her purse that was lying on the couch. Police said when the woman attempted to stop the man from taking her purse he punched her in the face causing her to fall through some closet doors. Police said the man then fled the residence in an unknown direction. Police said the woman was slightly injured and was checked out by emergency responders on the scene before being released.
The suspect is described as wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. There is no further physical description available.
