The Sussex Tech boys basketball squad used a 24-point fourth quarter to streak past the rival Golden Knights on Friday night, 70-50.

Larkin led the way for the Ravens scoring a game-high 19 points, while Sykes contributed 17 points in the victory.

After a frantic start on Friday night, the Ravens eventually took control of the game building a seven-point lead after one quarter of play. In the second, Sussex Tech would add on to their lead taking a 29-18 lead into the break.

The Sussex Central offense, led by Ayers and Clanton, helped keep pace with the Ravens in the third matching them basket-for-basket but they still trailed 46-34 heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth, the Golden Knight offense continued to build on their strong third quarter but their defense was unable to stop the Ravens. Sussex Tech scored a game-high 24 points in the fourth to finally pull away for good winning 70-50.

The loss for Sussex Central is their sixth in a row after winning their opening, dropping the Golden Knights to 1-6 on the season. They return to action Monday night traveling north to take on St. Mark’s at 7:30 p.m.

The win for Sussex Tech is their third in a row improving their record to 7-2 on the season. The Ravens are back on the hardwood Thursday when they travel to take on 7-1 Caesar Rodney at 7:15 p.m.
