  • A 20-year-old Seaford man was arrested Jan. 13 after police say he was found to be in possession of a significant amount of heroin.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers received preliminary information that Shaquil Turnage was selling drugs in the Colonial Garden Apartments area on Porter Street in Seaford. Police said surveillance of the apartment complex was established and Turnage was observed entering the parking lot around 5 p.m. in a white Honda Accord. Police said contact was made with Turnage after he parked the vehicle and he was taken into custody without incident. Police said he was found to be in possession of 86 bags of heroin totaling 1.29 grams, along with .5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police said information was also obtained regarding a handgun Turnage had in his possession. Troopers responded to Turnage’s residence in Seaford where they recovered a stolen .45 caliber pistol.
Turnage was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $6,000 secured bond.
