  • A March 12 fire in the 16000 block of Willow Creek Road in Lewes caused about $50,000 in damages, according the Delaware State Fire Marshal.

  • A March 12 fire in the 16000 block of Willow Creek Road in Lewes caused about $50,000 in damages, according the Delaware State Fire Marshal.
    Officials said the fire was reported around 11 a.m. The Lewes Fire Department, assisted by the Milton and Rehoboth Beach fire companies, extinguished the flames. There were no reported injuries.
    Officials said the fire was determined to be accidental in nature and was caused when embers from an outside fire ignited a nearby garage. The fire than extended into a second garage before it was extinguished.
