  • The replacement of a bridge just west of Dagsboro will require the temporary closure of a portion of Nine Foot Road from April 14 through May 30.
According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, the bridge spans across Whartons Branch on Nine Foot Road between Revel Road and Blueberry Lane. Contractor George & Lynch will be removing and replacing the existing metal pipe arches with a precast concrete box culvert. Additional work will include minor reconstruction of the roadway approach, installation of guardrail as needed and placement of riprap in the stream to prevent erosion.
Message signs will be in place to advise motorists of the closure and detour. The local detour for light trucks, cars and farm equipment is Raspberry Road onto Blueberry Lane. The posted detour will be U.S. Route 113 northbound onto Del. Route 24 westbound, returning to Nine Foot Road.
