  • A 36-year-old Millsboro woman and a 34-year-old Baltimore, Md. man were arrested April 21 for an alleged purse snatching.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at Seaside Outlets in Rehoboth Beach. Police said a 77-year-old Millsboro woman was entering a store when Jamie Queen allegedly grabbed the woman’s purse and ran to a waiting vehicle. The vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Roger Spence, fled the scene while being followed by a witness. Police said the witness lost sight of the vehicle but a trooper located it on John J. Williams Highway. Police said the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued for a mile before finally pulling over. Queen and Spence were taken into police custody.
Police said a search of the vehicle revealed the victim’s purse, items taken from a stolen purse on April 19 and drug paraphernalia. Police said the license plate on the vehicle was also stolen.
Queen and Spence face numerous offenses, including first degree robbery and second degree conspiracy. Queen was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $31,000 secured bail. Spence was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $36,453 secured bail.
