The Woods Tea Co., an acoustic group that performs fiery Celtic tunes, rousing sea shanties, lively French Canadian and Appalachian folk songs with ease and skill, all tempered with a parched New England wit, will perform on Friday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church.

Ticket price is $25. that includes the concert and a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m.

During a performance, the group uses up to a dozen different instruments.

“Really, if you count up all our instruments, we’re more like an orchestra than a trio,” said Patti Casey, who performs on vocals, guitar, flute, penny whistle and clog board. Howard Wooden can be heard on vocals, bass, guitar and bodhran and Tom MacKenzie on vocals, hammered dulcimer, banjo, guitar, ukulele and keyboard.  Information about this acclaimed musical group can be found at www.woodstea.net.

Established in 1981, Woods Tea Co. features a unique style of audience rapport with music rich in vocal harmonies that has everyone toe-tapping and smiling. They perform about 100 shows a year and have played at venues ranging from theaters to college auditoriums and churches in all of the lower 48 states, at New York’s Lincoln Center (twice) , at the Chautauqua Institute (three times) as well as on PBS and NPR.   Epworth’s Missions Outreach Team is delighted to welcome them back for another benefit concert.
