Unless the City of Rehoboth shuts down on account of the snow, there will be no stopping Winterjam 2010!

The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation's (CHEF) winter event, WinterJam 2010, for Cape teachers, alumni, families and the community at large, is still planned to continue on Friday, Feb. 5 from 7-11 p.m.

The dance party will have a new venue at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center and this year, CHEF is extending a special invitation for all Cape Henlopen High School alumni to join in the fun.

At the door, the ticket rate will be $15. Live music and dancing, drinks and snacks, raffles, a silent auction and a grand party atmosphere are surely worth the price of admission – especially because this is CHEF’s biggest fundraiser of the year, all to enhance teaching and learning in our Cape schools.

Greg Mack, a member of the local Funsters band, will be on stage. “We love to see people relax to our music and have a good time at WinterJam—especially the teachers,” Mack said.

“They work so hard for our kids.” Friends of the Funsters have appeared at the last several WinterJam events along with local bands 33 1/3, Hindsight 20/20 and Comfort Zone.

“We appreciate all the musicians and sound crews – they do the really hard work – from all the different bands giving their time to support the Cape school district,” Mack said.

“This is WinterJam’s fourth year and it is always so rewarding for me to see Cape teachers, families, alumni and community friends come together in support each other,” said Gail Mack, Cape teacher and one of the WinterJam originators. “I love that they all dance the night away in fun and fellowship. That the proceeds in part support CHEF’s teacher mini-grant program is just icing on the cake.”

The Cape Henlopen Education Foundation, CHEF, has been making an impact on Cape schools since 2007 through classroom grants to teachers and scholarships and other support to students. Come out to support the WinterJam fundraiser and raise some fun for a good cause.
