Blue-Gold hoops squads announced

Four boys and seven girls from Sussex have been selected to the state's Blue-Gold basketball teams in advance of the March 20 games, which kick off at 5 p.m. in Newark.

Selected players include:

GIRLS
Michelle Sturgis (Central)
Paige Morris (Sussex Tech)
Brandi Buchanan (Indian River)
Jennifer Carr (Delmar)
Keina Harmon (Delmarva Christian)
Tomorrow Briddell (Laurel)
Anitra Hughes (Seaford)

BOYS
Trent Batson (Cape Henlopen)
Vincent Glover (Seaford)
Marques Jones (Milford)
Patrick Shorts (Milford)

The girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m., followed by a Philadelphia Eagles Celebrity Benefit game at 6:30 p.m., and the boys’ game at 8 p.m.
 
At least six Eagles players will be available before and after their 6:30 p.m. game to sign autographs and take pictures. Comcast Sportsnet’s Derrick Gunn will serve as master of ceremonies.
 
Tickets can be purchased online at www.bestbuddiesdelaware.org or at the Bob Carpenter Center ticket office. Cost is $10 per ticket; $8 reduced price student ticket; $8 per ticket if buying 10 or more.
