Millsboro's Major League All-Star (District III) team staved off elimination from the state tournament Wednesday, July 28, with an 8-4 victory over MOT (District I).

The victory avenged a 15-4 District III loss to District I early in the tourney and, more importantly, kept Millsboro's state title hopes alive.

District III will play again tonight (Thursday) against District II champ Brandywine and needs to win in order to set up a championship game tomorrow between the same two teams in Newark. A Millsboro loss tonight would give Brandywine the crown.

Whichever team wins the state tournament moves to the East Regional in Bristol, Conn., and the champion there qualifies for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Games are being played in Newark and start at 7 p.m.
