The Delaware State Police have arrested 25-year-old Stephanie Elliott, of Millsboro, who is wanted for felony fraud charges after allegedly passing a counterfeit check worth nearly $3,700 in Long Neck.

State police initially sent out a May 30 bulletin asking for information on Elliott's whereabouts. A citizen called the DSP tip line after seeing Elliott's photo on a local news Web site, alerting police that she worked at a local Super G grocery store. Elliott was taken into custody without incident, and bail information is unknown at present.
 
Troopers investigated an incident at the Wilmington Trust bank in Long Neck (Millsboro) on April 22, that resulted in the passing of a counterfeit check for $3,699.50. Detectives learned through their investigation that the counterfeit check was made to reflect a business check from Burris Logistics, which is a legitimate business in Milford.

Interviews with representatives from Burris Logistics revealed they did not issue the check nor create it, police said.
 
Detectives were able to secure positive identification from officials at Wilmington Trust on the identity of the person who passed the check. Records obtained included photographs of the suspect cashing the check and it was found that the suspect actually showed her driver’s license to the teller during this incident. Therefore, information was documented with the bank on her identity.
