Calling all plungers!

The rescheduled Lewes Polar Bear Plunge will now be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 14 in Rehoboth Beach.

Rehoboth Beach will host a weekend-long Plunge party, including a 5k run, restaurant chili contest, ice-sculpting contest and much more. Activities for children will also be provided.

The Plunge was rescheduled from Feb. 7 because of the wintry conditions.

This year, Gov. Jack Markell will be running into the icy Atlantic Ocean waters along with the estimated 3,000 other polar bears.

Started in 1992, the plunge has grown from 72 participants to nearly 3,000 and it has raised $4.5 million over the years for Special Olympics Delaware.

This year's plunge is presented by WaWa and Comcast.
