Friends of the Georgetown Library monthly book discussion. Will take place at 10 a.m. at the library, with a discussion of Toni Morrison’s “A Mercy.“ For more information, call 856-7958.

Smooth Sound concert at Milton Memorial Park. Will take place at 7 p.m. in the park, as part of the free summer concert series.

Children’s Beach House Golf Classic. Will take place at noon (driving range opens at 10 a.m.), at the Pensinsula on the Indian River Bay, in Millsboro. Del. Hospice health forum. Will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle’s Parish Life Center, on Rt. 1 northbound, in Lewes. Pre-register by calling 227-1573.

Miss Del. Scholarship Organization talent competition. Will take place June 11-12 at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, in Dover. The winner will earn an entertainment spotlight on the final night the Miss Del. Pageant, on June 13. Entry fee is $50 per act (group or single). No age restrictions. SPCA fundraiser at SHAG Restaurant in Rehoboth. Will take place from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the restaurant, 37 Wilmington Ave., in Rehoboth. Bring your pup from 5-7 p.m. for “yappy hour“ and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to the SPCA. For more information, call 856-6361.

Conifers and Cabaret at East Coast Garden Center. Will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the center, on Cordrey Road, in Millsboro. Enjoy an evening of entertainment and horticultural information from evegreen and garden design specialist Jock Demme. For more information, call 945-5853.

Girl scouts scrapbooking clinic. Will take place with two sessions: 10 a.m. to noon for K-5 and 1-3 p.m. for grades 6-12, at Mount Olivet Church, in Seaford. Cost is $ per girl. Long Neck Business Association meeting. Will take place at noon, at American Legion Post 28, on Legion Road in Oak Orchard.

Beebe babysitter classes. Will take place over two-day periods June 15-16, 18-19, 22-23 and 25-26; topics will include the qualities of a good sitter, child development and age-appropriate activities; safe home practices for fire prevention; first-aid practices for minor medical problems and CPR for infants and children.
