Chad E. Spicer of Georgetown, DE, Patrolman with the Georgetown Police Dept., was killed tragically in the line of duty on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 in Georgetown.  He was 29.

Chad was born in Lewes, De, the son of Norman Ernest and Ruth Ann (Johnson) Spicer of Georgetown.

 He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the National Criminal Enforcement Association.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, working out, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Aubrey Elizabeth Taylor Spicer, Grandmother, Faye E. Johnson of Millsboro, 2 sisters, Lisa Louise Etienne of Laurel, Michelle Denise Ferran of Richmond, VA, 1 brother, Bruce Ernest Spicer of Georgetown, Aunt, Patricia Littleton, Laurel, Uncle and Aunt, Jack Johnson and Louise Johnson of Millsboro, Godparents, Pat and Harry Gordon of Georgetown, Fiance’, Stacie Davis of Laurel and several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Rd., Georgetown, DE, where friends may call after 10:00 am.  Interment will be in Cokesbury Cemetery, Georgetown.

Contributions may be made to:  Aubrey Spicer Trust, C/O Norman E. Spicer, Wilmington Trust Bank, 139 W. State St., Dover, DE 19901 or may be dropped off to any Wilmington Trust Branch.

Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
