Sixteen Wilmington University Rehoboth Beach students will donate two of their paintings to the Camp Rehoboth HeART of the Community ‘Lotto Heart’ fundraiser this month. The paintings will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting Camp Rehoboth, “a nonprofit community service organization dedicated to creating a more positive environment in Rehoboth Beach and its related communities.”
On July 3, artwork by Wilmington University students along with artwork from over 150 artists throughout the nation will be auctioned off as part of the Whole Lotta Love Weekend that will be held from July 3-4 at Camp Rehoboth in Rehoboth Beach. Patrons are invited to buy art for a great cause. The weekend will also include raffle prizes, an open bar, food and entertainment.
LottoHeART is a way for established and emerging artists to exhibit their work alongside hobbyists and students. All artwork on exhibit has been donated by the artist and will be sold for $100 each. The event is a lottery because the buyer does not know the identity of the artist until after the purchase. Additionally, the order in which the buyer selects the art is at random (they could select first, or they could select last). Rehoboth favorite, Christopher Peterson, will host the LottoHeArt Game Show.
Wilmington University’s Rehoboth Beach site offers a variety of non-credit and credit courses. Popular non-credit courses at the site include art, foreign languages, computer and Internet training, and specialized one-day workshops.
