Nanticoke Health Services announced that Ray Sammons was named February Employee of the Month.
Sammons started his career at Nanticoke Health Services in July 2015 in the facilities department at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He later became the facilities person at Nanticoke Health Pavilion Seaford.
Sammons was born at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and raised in Seaford. He attended Seaford High School and later became owner of Sammons Heating and Air Conditioning, installing and repairing heating, venting and air conditioning systems throughout the area from 1983 to 1996. He then worked for three oil and propane companies in the tri-state area.
Sammons has been involved in community activities including Seaford Little League, Seaford Volunteer Fire Department and serving as president of the Seaford High School Band Boosters. He is a member of Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown.
Sammons has been married to his wife, Candice, a registered nurse in the day surgery unit at Nanticoke, for 40 years. They have three children: Erin Courtney, Mary Beth Clemens and Ray “Elliott” Sammons.
Erin works for the Architect of the Capitol in Washington, D.C.; Mary Beth Clemens is a registered nurse at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond; and Elliott is team leader of the biomedical department at Nanticoke.
