Sussex County 4-H will host a Spring Farm Tour for elementary school students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16, 17 and 18 at Green Acres Farm, 18186 Dairy Farm Road, Lewes.
Green Acres Farm is owned by the Hopkins family, members and supporters of Sussex County 4-H.
Each spring, the University of Delaware and the Hopkins family partner to provide a school enrichment program to local school children pre-k through third grade. This year marks the 31st year of this joint partnership to educate Delaware youth about agriculture and food production.
Station topics include calf lane, pig pen alley, the barn, creamery, wagon ride, milking room, farmer McGregor’s garden puppet show, science station, healthy living station and agriculture station. An ice cream cone and enrichment activities are provided for students who visit the farm.
