The keynote speaker will be U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester.
More than 500 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree candidates will receive their diplomas at Delaware State University’s 2017 commencement ceremony, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13.
The ceremony will be held outdoors at Alumni Stadium on campus rain or shine.
The 2017 keynote speaker will be U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, the first woman and African American to serve the state of Delaware as an elected member of Congress. Gov. John Carney and U.S. Sen. Thomas R. Carper also will take part in the ceremony.
On the preceding day at 5 p.m. Friday, May 12, the DSU Department of Nursing will celebrate graduates in the traditional Nurse Pinning Ceremony in the Education and Humanities Theatre. That event is also free and open to the public.
