The shooting took place on South New Street.

Dover police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at about 10:02 p.m. May 2 while a woman was driving down South New Street.

The woman told police she heard a number of gunshots and that her driver’s side window was shattered by a bullet.

She did not see who fired the shots, Hoffman said.

Responding officers searched the area, but could not locate who fired the shots.

Forensic technicians have examined the vehicle and returned it to its owner, Hoffman said, adding the woman was not injured.
