Sussex Academy eighth-grader Trent Sapna was selected as winner in the Letters About Literature competition for his letter to former NFL player Ray Lewis about Lewis’ book, “I Feel Like Going On: Life, Game and Glory.”

The Library of Congress Letters About Authors competition is a reading/writing contest open to students in grades four through 12. Competitors read a book, poem or speech and write a letter to the author about how the writing affected them personally.

As a state winner, Sapna will receive a cash award, and his letter will advance to national judging. The national judging will take place in May at the Library of Congress.
