The victim has been identified as Lamare Kiser, 44.
UPDATE: The Delaware State Police are releasing the name of the victim involved in the shooting at Alder Park Apartments as Lamare Kiser, 44 of Dover. An autopsy conducted by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science has determined the death a homicide by gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
The investigation into the murder is continuing, DSP spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is conducting an investigation into a shooting death inside a Dover-area apartment complex.
The shooting took place around 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 3 in Building B of the Alder Park Apartments at 51 Webbs Lane, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.
Fournier said numerous 911 calls prompted troopers, Dover police, and emergency medical personnel to converge on the building, where they found a 44-year-old man inside his apartment.
The man was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, he said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until his next of kin could be notified, Fournier said.
Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation by conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding this shooting. Additional information and investigative details will be disseminated as soon as it becomes available and the investigation progresses.
No suspects have been identified, Fournier said.
There have been nine violent episodes reported at the apartment complex since September 2013: five shootings, two armed robberies, a stabbing and a murder-suicide.
