The Sussex Tech Adult Division in Georgetown held its annual apprenticeship training awards ceremony April 27, during which 211 students were honored for advancing in their chosen professions.

Thirteen state registered apprentices were recognized by the Delaware and Maryland Departments of Labor and advanced to journeyworker status. A journeyworker is recognized as having the hands-on and classroom training of a fully qualified skilled worker.

Apprenticeship classes held at Sussex Tech include electrical, heating/ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration, marine mechanics, plumbing and welding.
