Rehoboth Beach photographer Chuck Snyder’s work was featured at a recent Fourth of July celebration held at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo.

Earlier this year, Leslie DeGrande of the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, Kosovo, reached out to Southern Delaware Tourism requesting digital photos representing the Delaware beaches. DeGrande was seeking photos that could be printed on large canvases and hung in the ambassador’s garden for an “elegant Eastern Shore-themed Fourth of July party.”

“We are hoping to print large-scale photographs of different east coast beaches to display at the party so that our local guests can see the beauty of the beaches,” DeGrande said.

Southern Delaware Tourism, in turn, contacted Snyder, who permitted his photos to be forwarded to the embassy, one of which was selected. After the party, Consular Chief Brian Corteville sent a thank you note in which he said that “over 600 guests from around Kosovo, including politicians, musicians, members of civil society and resident Americans attended the event at the Ambassador’s residence. Many attendees described the event as the best the Embassy has hosted so far.”
