The Delaware Department of Transportation will host a public workshop from 4 to 7 p.m. July 25 in the cafeteria/atrium of Cape Henlopen High School, 1250 Kings Highway, Lewes, to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of the Rehoboth Drawbridge on state Route 1A/Rehoboth Avenue over the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and the proposed rehabilitation of the Lewes Drawbridge on Business US 9/Savannah Road over the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.
DelDOT representatives will be in attendance to discuss and receive input from the public.
The purpose of the workshop is to present details of the anticipated schedule and traffic impacts of the upcoming bridge rehabilitation work on vehicular, pedestrian and vessel traffic. This work is necessary to extend the service life of the bridges by upgrading and repairing electrical, mechanical and structural systems on the bridges.
