Kathy McGuiness, Lisa Schlosser win commissioner seats.

After 27 years, Sam Cooper has been ousted as the mayor of the City of Rehoboth Beach.   The annual municipal election was held today, Saturday, August 12, and Paul Kuhns won the mayoral race. Incumbent Kathy McGuiness and newcomer Lisa Schlosser were elected commissioners.   There were 879 walk-in voters and 436 absentee voters at this year's election, bringing the grand total to 1,315 voters.   Five individuals ran for office. For the office of mayor, Paul Kuhns collected 761 votes and Sam Cooper collected 543 votes. For the two open commissioner seats, Kathy McGuiness collected 903 votes, Lisa Schlosser collected 706 votes and Susan Gay collected 637 votes.   The election winners will be sworn into office on Friday, September 15, at the regular Rehoboth Beach commissioners meeting.
