Gonzolo Martinez, an original founder of Sussex Academy of Arts and Science founders, visited the academy.

His last visit was in 2014 when the building/facilities were under construction.

Martinez became involved in Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences one year prior to its opening. His goal was to encourage attendance from the Hispanic community. He worked with local Hispanic families, and when the school opened in 2000, the student population was 2.6 percent Hispanic.

Sussex Academy students Jaide Morales-Alvarado, Sherllyn Morales-Alvarado and Karen Yoc-Gonzalez joined Martinez on his tour.
